Anyone else see this? I watched it last night and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I mean, it certainly wasn't traditional (and Jon English, though funny, can't sing for anything), but I definitely liked it. I mean, how often will you hear a megamix of songs from 130 years ago? I wouldn't think I'd ever want to either, but I just let myself ride with it, and it definitely was entertaining.

For a moment, I thought you meant the current show at The Sydney Opera House. I saw it three weeks ago with Anthony Warlow as The Pirate King. I hope they release a video of that show!
Here is an earlier thread with discussion among some of us who have seen it- some on DVD and some were actually at the performance.

My friend was just in Sydney and she was supposed to go see Pirates but the program that she was with (People To People) cancelled it at the last minute. She was pretty depressed.
Jo, I have heard that there well maybe a DVD of the current Opera Australia PIRATES OF PENZANCE. You (being a big Hugh Jackman fan) maybe interested to hear that there is a lot of talk about at present about a THE BOY FROM OZ DVD, though nothing confirmed as yet.
