lame...that comment just seems to make the excuse sound poorer and poorer. a humble apology seems to be in order

agreed. this just makes him sound worse and dumber.
Well, it's lovely to see that he's well enough to attend to Golden Globes, but too sick to finish out his Broadway run.
I so hope the producers sue him.

On E! he just said "I'm not going to get in to it" and said William H. Macy is replacing him...when is he taking over for Norbert? I had no idea lol.
Oh Jeremy. You ass.
I think Macy takes over this week.
And Piven's an idiot. If he wanted any credibility he would've refrained from showing up to all of these events and parties or traveling all over the world.
people won't forget this.
Oh, Piven, it's so nice to have you back where you belong.
I think Macy takes over this week.
Macy starts this Tuesday, the 13th.
And actually, I honestly have to thank Jeremy; his departure made the show better. And if he hadn't left, I wouldn't have gotten to see two of my favorite actors completely rock the stage together.
Nice forced smile to cover his loss. (Is it wrong that I am gleeful?)
BTW to BWW: GRATEFUL. Greatful isn't a word. OY.
I also want to diss Mark Wahlburg who makes it all sound like a joke.

Even if the show is much better off without him, this is still such a douche bag move. He didn't have to drop out completely, he's clearly feeling better. I hope the producers do follow through with the lawsuit!
Piven just lost the Golden Globe. DAMN

Of course. I thought it was obvious that I wasn't being completely serious. I've been saying since this happened, that sick or not, he's handled the whole thing poorly. HUGE dick move on his part. He screwed that production over and totally left them all hanging. But, for me, there is a flip side to it -- and a silver lining.

I agree Mark Wahlberg was a total prick.
It's just pathetic now.

Oh, Emcee I wasn't directing that at you, I was just saying in general. I mean I know you weren't saying it was an OK thing for him to do. If only you could translate tone online!
I read Mark's comment as dripping with sarcasm.
No worries! I thought it might have been since I said it made the show better.

On E's red carpet, he praised Raul and Elizabeth. He also said, "Bill Macy is an upgrade from me."

TinesSquareRegular, please explain if you read this why Miss Marky Mark's comments are sarcastic?
To me it just seems blatant like He knows, as we all do that Piven and his Doctor friend are liars and it's all a big joke.
But to anyone working on the show, it meant extra rehearsals, extra money, and a lot of heartache.
At least it gave two other terrific actors some work.

Wouldn't that, then, warrant sarcasm? I agree that what he did to his co-stars and colleagues involved with the show on all levels was really, really sh*tty, but by being sarcastic and basically discounting Piven's credibility here, isn't Wahlberg more or less condemning the behavior? And if he's suggesting that the whole mercury poisoning thing was ridiculous, that's not making light of what Jeremy did to the show. He's not exactly playing along.
