I had heard the original cast of The Play that Goes Wrong was leaving in September. Does anyone know the exact date? I was hoping to catch them, if not already to late.

Any word on the replacement cast? The originals leave in less than a week and I think it's strange that there's been nothing announced yet....

They're all unknowns and are definitely in rehearsal but, yes I find it odd there has been no announcement.

I just asked the cast when I saw the show like a little over a month ago, I believe. I was conversing with them at the stage door, and they mentioned that their last day is 17 September. They said they did the casting for all the replacements themselves, but I don't know much else about the replacement cast.

I met the incoming actor for Charles at their stage door, did a massive double take because he looks almost exactly like the current Charles actor!
The cast (who are all super friendly and chill) explained that Equity only allows them to work here for 6 months and their visa expires immediately so they can't stay. Ensuring American actors get American roles I guess? Thought that was really interesting, there's definitely no rule like that with tv/movies so it must be a stage thing.

I'm going to see it in November. I was worried it might close early, but hopefully bringing on a new cast means its here for a while. I'm really looking forward to it!

No, they're just black. If they happen to be funny and black great, but we live in a culture where diversity is more important than talent.
