Posted: 1/3/14 at 9:23amI have always wondered the same thing! At first I thought it was because they were closing, but then I went to see Chicago and I got a b&w one. Is it just to save money?

Yes. Always about money.
The B&W ones are provided without harge from Playbill. Thre productions pay (dearly, I understand) for color covers.
