Posted: 2/12/07 at 12:41amLast year I was in a production of The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other, which is a play without dialogue that is a lot like people-watching in the park, lots of entrances and exits. Most people played around 15 characters, with a few exceptions. It turned into a really fascinating play and it was a great exercise in character work because the challenge became to make each character unique and distinct. I had a lot of extensive backstories. Great experience. My favorite character, who I had the most developed history for, only ran across stage once with a pile of laundry.
