Plays vs. Musicals

What is your favorite play and what is your favorite musical? If you put them in a head to head battle who would win?

Some questions to ask to put them head to head

Which has a better Plot?
Which had a better cast?
Which had a better set and was produced better?
(MAKE UP MORE IF THESE DONT HELP)

Also make it an odd number just so you dont have a tie

Play: History Boys (and I'm not just saying this because it's recent, it's the best play I have ever seen).

Musical: Light in the Piazza

Better Plot: Light in the Piazza
Better Cast: tough, but History Boys overall (although Kelli O'Hara and Victoria Clark are AMAZING!!)
Better Technical Stuff: Light in the Piazza
Which made me forget I was watching a show and made me feel like it was real life: History Boys

They are both amazing, I would have to call it a tie because they are so different and strong in so many ways. If I HAD to pick, I think I would go with Piazza.

Well, you'd have to pick a play and musical you've seen. It's hard to determine if the cast is good if you haven't seen it.

Play: Doubt (Fantastic, brilliant, chilling)
Musical: Light in the Piazza (The same with touching replacing chilling)
Cast: Piazza (Victoria Clark, enough said.)

sorry i didnt add this in earlier.

My Favorites are 12 ANGRY MEN and TICK TICK BOOM!
Plot: Tough but i like 12 men screaming at each other more than I like a bunch of people getting nowhere (I still love TTB)
Actors: TTB wins, there wasnt a bad actor in that production.
Book: TTB wins, mixture of seiriousness and some comic relief.
Set: TTB besides the music you got a great set. In 12 angry men you got a table and a few knives.
Made me forget i was watching the show: 12 Angry men definatley

Play: The Pillowman
Musical: Les Miserables

Which has a better Plot?: The Pillowman
Which had a better cast?: I can't decide...the casts are both great.
Which had a better set and was produced better?: Les Miz
