Please help me settle a RENT bet.

How much money do you think RENT has made worldwide (excluding the film)? Or is there a place to access this information.

I have a friendly wager with someone on this.

re: Please help me settle a RENT bet.

I don't think anyone here has any idea how much it's grossed worldwide but the cumulative Broadway grosses as of September of last year for Rent were $208,964,075.

It's probably recouped back its initial investment. I know that much. Well, with DVD sales and ticket sales it probably has.

Thanks...where do you get that info from?

Do you think you could double that figure to factor in tours, other productions, etc. Is that reasonable do you think?

Cumulative grosses can be found on playbill.com's site. I have no idea whether you could double it or not but I wouldn't be surprised if that was possible. Considering that in North American alone there have been tours going on for the majority of the past ten years, sometimes more than one at a time. That, combined with all of the international productions around the world? Could be close to that but the actual figures probably aren't available to anyone.

And, Jaso_n, you're kidding, right, when you say "it's PROBABLY recouped" its investment? That happened years ago!

I think jaso_n is talking about the film, judging by the DVD comment.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
