Posted: 5/20/10 at 8:07pmTo the OP. I can understand if you're concerned about missing a soap being filmed in New York due to it ending with the loss of jobs. However, it's a business. The people employed realize that when they decided to become a professional actor that they were going to be making their livings freelancing. Yes, it does suck and no one likes to see people without having a job. But, it isn't as if those involved weren't aware of the potential risks involved when signing the contract.

I live in Los Angeles where there is plenty of soap opera work...
So, why am I working this summer in CT? Because it's nice.
I wonder if I should take my passport?

Nope. But the point is that not enough do to make soaps economical, aka profitable, or at least more profitable than something else. It's a business.
