i know he's got a temper on him, but i've also seen him be nothing be sweetness and light with a bevy blue hairs who wanted nothing but to be near the cap'n. hell, he's got 2 tonys and i think he gave the performance of his lifetime already earning his second one in barrymore. but i was not there and cannot judge.

Plummer reads the same papers you do. He had to know he wasn't going to win, but he showed up. When his category happened, he left, what's the big deal? Do you think he really cared if Avenue Q beat Wicked?

Of course.
He had a 'Wicked' T-Shirt on underneath his tux. When asked if he thought he'd appear on Broadway again, he responded with a quizzical look, and mumbled something about "defying gravity".

I was watching "Somewhere in Time" last night. I had forgotten that Mr. Plummer was in it. But judging from his sour attitude at the Tonys, I'm guessing he was type-cast.

hey hey, the people at Stratford are good guys, I know from first-hand experience.
I had the opprotunity to meet with Christopher Plummer and many members of the original cast of King Lear (many of whom are in the show right now) while taking courses at Stratford. He's not a very social guy, everyone knows that. But from what I gathered he doesn't have a fiery temper, and he has far too much pride to walk out in a huff like that.
I believe the plane story. Go ahead, blame Canada

I'm intrigued by all the people who jumped on this 'gossip column' notice in this particular 'newspaper.' Do they really believe everything they read - especially there? So much for building a reputation and career - one notice in a rag, and it counts for nothing. These people must get VERY distracted at the checkout line of the grocery store.
