Porgy and Bess TKTS question

I'm coming the first weekend in April and am hoping to catch a performance of Porgy and Bess and I was just wondering how TKTS has been going for the show--I know that it's been on the list frequently, according to their website. I'm seeing a matinee of Leap of Faith that day and won't be able to get to the line until after that...should I be okay for evening tickets?

Thanks so much for any help/info you can give. I read the boards often for entertainment, but am not always compelled to post myself. Thanks again!

If this helps as any sort of indication, it is 50 minutes before the 3pm Sunday matinee and it is on TKTS still for 40% off...not sure if they will sell out, but timing wise you still have the option this close to the curtain time. Again, every day may be different.

Also, I saw the show 3 weeks ago via student rush and I got an orchestra ticket at 6:30 for an 8pm curtain on a Friday night. The back few rows of the orchestra were not filled that night.

I would also bring a discount code with you for the show. Since it is through Ticketmaster, you'd end up paying so much in "INconvenience" fees if you bought it online, but you could choose your own seat with their still somewhat new-ish interactive seating chart. You could go to the box office beforehand and give them the discount code and get your tickets there and not have to pay the 10-12 bucks per ticket in handling fees. Hope all of this helps you out. Thanks so much for your advice! I'm looking forward to this show...despite the less than fabulous reviews, Audra and Norm are more than enough reason to see anything!

If you have an iPhone or and Android phone, you can download the TKTS app for free. It works very well and will let you know what's on the three TKTS boards (Times Square, Brooklyn, and South Street) in real time. It's a lot of fun!
