Thought I'd pass this along...

I got a message from CCnow this morning telling me that my Porgy pre-order had been cancelled due to the delay.

I emailed PS Classics to see if I should re-order.

Here is his reply:

if you received a PORGY AND BESS email this morning saying that your order was canceled, please ignore it -- at least till I can get to the bottom of it. There's no reason CCNow should have canceled orders -- we have a staff arriving here in two hours to start boxing and shipping -- but I can't reach CCNow till 9 AM Central Time. So bear with us, we apologize for what's been a ghastly error on CCNow's part, and we'll get it all corrected today, and get you your order!

Best,

Updated, all has been fixed.

Hi all,

Philip and I are so sorry about the confusion this morning. I reached Bill at CCNow. There was a computer glitch -- he still doesn't understand why -- and roughly 100 PORGY orders (all dating from before mid-March) were canceled out. Bill has gone ahead and RE-processed them. You will receive a new order number, BUT (and it's a big but) you will not be charged twice, and only this new order will ship. So you will NOT be double-billed. (CCNow doesn't actually charge your credit card until after we alert them that we've shipped the product; they do a pre-authorization, but that's it.) Philip and I are so sorry about this glitch, but we will, despite it, make sure your CD ships today.

If you've since written us with additional instructions (and indeed, some did write requesting that their order be canceled), we will, obviously, adhere to any and all requests.

Best,

Tommy Krasker

Agreed.

He even sent me a personal response in addition to the email blast I pasted above. Class act.

He's so classy. PSClassics should record Jesus Christ Superstar.

I love Tommy so.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
