Positive Reviews lead to Anything Goes Cast Recording?- Page 2

I saw it last night and thought the whole cast was just swell. Plus it's going to win best choreography actress and revival (by default) so I think they will probs preserve it with a recording...its gonna be 3 time tony award winning after all!

Anything buzzing out there about this? I really thought/hoped one of the labels would jump at this one.

(I'd trade another How to Succeed album for another Anything Goes album in a heartbeat, especially given the respective casts.)

The labels jumping? I've explained it many, many times - labels don't jump unless the producers are paying for the recording. If the producers pay, then Ghostlight or PS Classics get handed a project they don't have to pay for in any way, shape, or form. Since I got a little e-mail asking me to "bid" on the cast album it does seem like they're looking for a label to actually pay - but those days, except in very rare cases (Book Of Mormon being one) are over. Of course, I'd be very interested in doing it if they paid, and I could save them money, but if they don't have the bucks to spend then they don't have the bucks to spend.

I hope so. I really like some of the vocal arrangements (especially the last bars of Anything Goes and Blow Gabriel Blow).
