Does anyone remember this off- broadway musical? It had a score written by the guy who wrote the theme to Cheers and Punky Brewster. I remember listening to the recording once and thinking how horrible it was. But I was maybe 10 years old. Nothing is available online that I could find. Anyone?

It was cute and amusing. The songs were tuneful.
Compared to the overhyped, unmusical bores and bilge that regularly win raves and awards today, it was a masterpiece.

I saw the show. A friend's girlfriend was in it. I believe her name was Susan Dow. It was a cute show but nothing more than that.
BTW: It has to be more than 10 years ago. I'm guessing it was closer to 25 years ago.

My high school acting company did Preppies in 1988 and I was in it! So funny that I was just talking about this with a friend of mine and looked it up and found your post! Thanks for bringing back great memories ❤️

I'm not sure, but I think it was written by the team that went on to create "Friends." Marta Kaufman and David Crane.

And it was directed by Tony Tanner--the actor who replaced Tommy Steele in HALF A SIXPENCE.
