I was very saddened to read this article yesterday. The only thing to hope is that someone with the means to preserve this icon, will step up to the plate. The wonder I felt at my first sight of Tavern on the Green, will forever stay with me. What a magical place!
IMO, all who are able and can support such historical places, need to take heed. As time passes, if we are not careful, a rich heritage can disappear within our own lifetime. Let's not allow this to happen. I know most of us don't have the capital needed, but I am hoping this plea will somehow reach those who do have the means and power to do it. After all, this is not only part of the Broadway tradition, but of Broadway history itself.

From my understanding, it HAS a new owner...I thought I heard that recently, stating that it would be closed for rennovations. Hmmm......

I truly hope so...it seemed to not be quite clear what will be decided by the courts, but I hope you are correct! And I hope the new owner will keep its charm as is.
