Uch. It disgusts me how good of an actor David Tennant is, and yet the Jude Law Hamlet was the one brought over to Broadway. That minute and 19 seconds is AMAZING, I can't WAIT to see the film in its entirety. London theater gods, you done me wrong.

Tennant is AMAZING. Can't wait for his new NBC show -- REX IS NOT YOUR LAWYER. It's supposed to air after the winter olympics. Supposedly the role was so demanding they couldn't find anyone to play it. Until Tennant came in and read. And he blew the network away. I'd love to see him on stage.

John Crawford, interesting what you say about DT's new show airing after the winter Olympics. According to Tennant himself, he's going back to LA next week to film the pilot. He also mentioned it on his recent appearance on Graham Norton (to be on BBCA this Saturday night) and said it was just the pilot and it might come to nothing.

I saw Tennant's Hamlet at the RSC, Edward Bennett's when the production came into London and Jude Law's version and Tennant's by far was the best performance, he was more electric than Law,and I felt more in possession of the role, Law is not a natural Shakespeare actor, Tennant is.I'm so pleased they've filmed it, I'm sure this will be looked on as one of the best Hamlets for a long time, or at least until Rory Kinnear next year at the National! lol I kid!

I actually cannot wait! So pleased this is getting recorded for all time - when I read Hamlet now I read it with David and Oliver Ford-Davies' voices in my head, which always feels weird.

However, I preferred Ed Bennett over Tennant, but am happy just to have him being Laertes in this production. Not that I'm a little obsessed or anything... though I did go to Chichester to see him in Hay Fever. What a production, seriously. This is actually the highlight of my Christmas.

PBS will air it on Great Performances in April. Wonder if they'll "borrow" DT from Masterpiece Contemporary to introduce it?
