Posted: 11/16/09 at 8:16pmSome of Edward Woodward's obituaries mention that he starred in a London musical called "Two Cities" in 1969, based on "A Tale of Two Cities." It's the first I've heard of it. Does anyone know anything about it? Is there a recording? I've been Googling it, but I'm not finding much. One site mentioned a recording, but not where to find it.

Just out of curiosity, what machine did you get Roxy?
I have hundreds of cassettes that I really need to transfer to CD and MP3.

MCFan, I was very fortunate to have seen Edward Woodward in the show Two Cities in 1969. He played Sydney Carton, and much to my surprise had a reasonably good singing voice. What marked him out as a fine actor was that he could be a very sensitive performer, and not just the "hard man" seen in many of his TV and film roles.

Bwaybabe2, I've only heard the concept album with Alex Santoriello in the lead. But if Mr Roxy can send me a copy of "Two Cities," I'll let you know how they stack up -- or maybe Mr Roxy can tell you now, having already heard "Two Cities"!
