re: Priscilla Panic!!

I forgot to mention i finally got see Priscilla

Dont have time to review it right now but my thoughts were that the show was fun but sometimes i was just yearning for more of a plot or any kind of emotional attachment and it just did not come.

The performances were great (yeeeah Oliver Thornton has finally found a role that suits him) and the costumes were brilliant. The music was fun (bit to much Kylie for a Madonna fan lol)

Overall it was fun but overrated (don't kill me)and a bit more attention could have gone in to the book.

I would recommend it to friends (gay friends) but warn them its more like a mega budget extravaganza drag show than a book musical....ive never felt so camp when i left a theatre like i did when i left this "damn you Priscilla lol*

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

re: Priscilla Panic!!

I don't think it try's, or even pretends, to be a great book show.
I watched the move 2 weekends ago and there aint' no great screenplay there so why people expect that from the stage show I don't know.

LOL, I'm taking my 79 year-old mum to see Priscila in June - she loves a good night out at the theatre but I've warned her Priscilla is like 'Hairspray on acid' to the power of ten. Luckily she's not too easily shocked... I hope!
Seen some shows in my time....

What was the West End show set on the Tube?

I bet the standing room was always over-crowded.

re: Priscilla Panic!!

Oh God it was vile.
It was a thriller set on the underground called, um, 'Underground'!
It starred the guy who played 'Ironside' the detective in the 70s?? and played the Prince Of Wales theatre in July 1993 and to this day holds the record for that theatres shortest running flop- 21 perfs!
I left in the interval and got the first tube home.

re: Priscilla Panic!!

Oh, I vaguely remember the publicity about Ironside coming over now you mention it.

It does seem a bad idea.

re: Priscilla Panic!!

Raymond Burr!
He died 4 weeks after the play closed.

re: Priscilla Panic!!

Crikey! He must have been keen to do the play - what a disappointing way to end a career.
#40

re: Priscilla Panic!!

From what i remember of the set he probably died of motion sickness!

re: Priscilla Panic!!

re: Priscilla Panic!!

by Michael Sloan?

lol
I'm so happy for you you didn't, did you actually read it?
I will try and find some reviews for when it played town.

re: Priscilla Panic!!

The concept sounded great, the claustrophobia of the situation is something that excites me........then i read it lol

Its a shame as the concept is a good one, but its so dated and the dialogue is dreadful

Phantom in your star system you give PRISCILLA 2 stars, but you give that tiresome bore PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, 5 !?! Must be a typo.
