Even though Fred is gone, Brad Oscar is excellent in the role, and honestly, Hunter Foster is worth the price of admission. Also, the music and score are so great and witty. GO SEE THE PRODUCERS.

THey're both entertaining shows. At Mamma Mia people are always dancing at the end and women (especially middle-aged) really seem to enjoy it. They are ABBA songs, but they do a pretty good job of making them make sense within the show, so its not like , hey time for a song! The Producers is hysterical. Offensive to just about everyone, but outrageously funny. I really think most likely you'll enjoy either show! Maybe check and see which show is cheaper or where you can get better seats .... thats always a good deciding point.

I was rereading my old Urinetown playbill & all most fell over when I saw Hunter had been the Tugger in the Nat tour of CATS!! Who'd a thunk it!! I mean he is fantastic & all but CATS? Tugger?

I've seen Mamma Mia three times. I've passed up seeing The Producers three times. I'd go see Mamma Mia again. Nothing about The Producers interests me at all. I found the score dull and not memorable. The segment on the Tonys did nothing for me. The burlesque humor isn't my thing.

Lol, yeah I read he was "Rum Tum Tugger" (sp?) in the national tour. That was the curious cat. I saw the person playing Tugger on the CATS video, and I can only imagine Hunter singing like that and trying to act all smooth and sexy...lol.

If it's going to be between The Producers or Mamma Mia!...it's THE PRODUCERS all the way!!! In my opinion, Mamma Mia! is an overrated show with a thin storyline that could be solved in 2 seconds with a paternity test. The Producers is so much more clever!

But I agree with others that have posted. Compromise with either Hairspray, Phantom, or Wicked. You really can't go wrong either way.

Okay, I've (sort of) tallied the votes, and Producers is the clear winner. Hairspray and Mamma Mia had three votes each, and Producers had nine. I think my choice is obvious. :) I'm gonna talk to my mom tomorrow - er, today.

Well, I'm personally not a huge fan of either of them, but I would have to go with The Producers, or see both! You can get student tickets for the producers anyway!
