Producing Godspell?

SO, did any of the public producers make anything back?
Or was it long gone the night the money was handed over?

Curious to know if all the 'perks' that were promised materialized.

What perks were promised out of curiosity?

It's clear they didn't recoup. GODSPELL was the lowest grossing show on Broadway last week - ouch.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

According to the link below, for a minimum investment of $1,000, The People of Godspell (sounds like a commune) were promised:

* a limited liability company interest in The Godspell, LLC
* the name of every investor (that wished it) on a poster outside the venue
* a listing for every investor (that wished it) on PeopleOfGodspell.com, including his or her photo, hometown, a quote, and links to his or her Facebook and Twitter profiles
* opportunities for opening night performance and gala tickets (at least one person on this forum reported that their friend's tickets didn't get comped, so there's at least that to check)
* complimentary tickets to previews
* invitations to private cast functions

To be fair, it doesnt say FREE tix to opening night -- but the opportunity for tickets. I would GUESS they could order them long before they were released for sale.

funny...there was a poster here that claims to be an investor of This --- and had plenty to say in the months/weeks before the show got shut out of Tony noms and/or announced closing. I wonder why he hasn't been around lately....
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Everything that was promised to us came through. Ken did a truly amazing job with keeping us informed and was always accessible. If we had questions, hardly more than 48 hours would go by (and usually 24) before we got a response. For me, it was well worth the investment. I got to meet people I would not have met otherwise and even got to invest in another show which is doing VERY well. Just wish I had taken up the other offer to go in on BEST MAN.

It was a very positive experience all around.

Confused...what does wishing for a million bucks mean?

Ask and ye shall receive? I mentioned YOU and you showed up on the threads. I figured maybe if I asked for a million bucks....

I'M the one you were talking about? I'm flattered but have to disagree. I never claimed to be an investor until just now. And only posted a few times. Are you sure it was me?

Not at all -- I just assumed!
