Producing a Bway show

I am looking to produce a Broadway show, however, I know absolutely nothing about how to get into it. Don't laugh and say "hah, produce a musical - right!" I'm dead serious. I just don't know where to start.

Help?

Anyone? Margo?
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Invensting might be a good place to start, but full-fledged producing is ideal.

re: Producing a Bway show

I remember hearing that the following workshop is outstanding and is how several of the younger, up-and-coming off-Broadway and Broadway producers got their start. Here's the info on the next one that happens in April:

COMMERCIAL THEATER INSTITUTE (CTI)
2006 3-DAY INTENSIVE PROGRAM
AGENDA AND SPEAKERS
April 28, 29, 30 2006

Three-Day Program
Open to anyone interested in producing, co-producing or investing in the commercial theatre - Broadway, Off Broadway, Touring Broadway, and elsewhere - this program takes place over a weekend in April. Held at a Broadway or Off Broadway theatre generously provided to CTI, the three-day program offers practical information of interest to prospective producers, general managers, and investors. Each session consists of presentations and panel discussions with experienced producers, general managers, entertainment attorneys, and managing directors who offer specific case histories that illustrate the various means of developing theatrical productions. This program is of special interest to anyone exploring relationships between the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in the development of a theatre project.
