Quiche, I was kidding. But she sounds like she's giving you a hard time for no particular reason, and she's wrong to do so. You should be encouraged at home to pursue your interests. I went to a similar high school as you, and my parents were encouraging when I showed an interest in the theater from a young age. I'm sorry to hear about your problem.
Woh tazber, I have nothing wrong with anyone being gay but that's a pretty quick assumption to come to. I'm straight, have a girlfriend, and not only love theater but am currently majoring in theater performance in college. But that's not really the issue at hand.
Quiche - I can tell you now that you are not alone in being scolded by your mother for your love of theater. While I personally haven't had that problem (my parents actively took me to see shows since a young age), many of my classmates in the theater program at my school have had experiences very similar to yours. College will be a sweet taste of freedom so you should feel compelled to live it up and buy all the merchandise you can! =)
As for the prop itself, it's a pretty cool souvenir from the show, although I'm not sure if it's a $90 souvenir...
I'm sure she has her reasons, although they do sound more about her and her hangups than you. I agree generally with what jv92 said, but I'm certainly in no place to offer advice since I know so little about the particulars of your home life.
What I can say is that at least you have Broadwayworld to come to and discuss your passion without any judgements or fear of being found out.
Yea, you're right NotAnotherSN. I shouldn't have made that assumption. I was just trying to add a little perspective to Quiche's current situation.
Quiche, whether you're gay or straight my point was simply that this too shall pass.
