Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16

Posted: 6/6/06 at 9:02amI may be wrong about this, but I think that anyone who is considered an international star, as Pryce surely is, is not limited by the six-month rule.

From today's Daily News:
A reliable snitch says"Will Rogers Follies" alumnus Keith Carradine has been roped to replace Jonathan Pryce when he departs "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" next month ...

Posted: 6/6/06 at 10:26amI give the show 4 more months. Whats next at the Imperial?
re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#53
Posted: 6/6/06 at 10:42amThey should reallty reach out to Stokes. This show is too good to let it flop. Nobert's replacement sounds great and if they get Stokes or O'Hurley, they will be saved from havig to close prematurely.
re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#54
Posted: 6/6/06 at 10:50amStokes is way to stiff for this kind of show. I think Scoundrells is running out of steam.

Stokes is busy with all concerts around country to promote his album. He cannot make it now.
I am glad that I saw the show twice with Pryce and Butz both in.

Well, Stokes did the original workshop...
Dame's making me sad. I'd give it at least to the end of the year...I hope
re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#57
Posted: 6/6/06 at 3:16pmAs much as DAME's posts make me sad, its a valid point. I need to catch Lucie in this before it closes.
re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#58
Posted: 6/6/06 at 6:53pmLucie was sooo good. I've heard her sing a few times, but not as amazing as when I heard her.

Dre, you called me SirLiir ; ;
And yes, I am fearful for the future of the show. I know D'Arcy and Keith will be great but without big names, its going to suffer a lot. People will pass it up unfairly because it will not have a celebrity attached. Time will tell I suppose.

Posted: 6/7/06 at 12:24amhow did pryce reacte to the TONY debacle? I wasn't aware he publicly gave a responce...
re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#64
Posted: 6/8/06 at 1:09amHe replied rather truthfully what he felt about the whole issue. Mr. Pyrce made some valid points as well. Whether he was being arrogrant (which I don't feel he was) is up to the reader's interpretation.

re: Pryce and Butz Depart Scoundrels July 16#66
Posted: 6/8/06 at 5:37amI'm just wondering if the show has finally paid off all its backers. I know that in March they were very close to it. ( met an investor) If the show is in the black AND the salaries of most of the leads also go down p'raps it could survive into the new year but I strongly suspect that the doldrums of Jan will end the run.
