Ticket sales are starting for the 2016-2017 season - is there anything you'd especially recommend?
I like Richard Nelson, so I bought tickets for the two remaining Gabriel family plays a couple of weeks ago. I would also like to see Saint Joan and Sweat, but they don't seem to be on sale yet unless you're a Public partner (not a regular member).

Obviously none of us have seen the shows yet, but these all jump out to me:
-Twelfth Night Musical (Shaina Taub is very talented)
-Saint Joan (New musical directed by Alex Timbers, whom I love as a director)
-The Beautiful Things (intrigued by the involvement of Nia Vardalos and Tommy Kail)
-Plenty (I've enjoyed David Hare's work in the past)
-Gently Down the Stairs (Harvey Fierstein will be in it)
-Latin History For Morons (LOVE John Leguizamo. Saw his last solo show, "Ghetto Klown" and loved it)
Do we know when general tickets for the season go on sale?

Aren't the fall offerings the only ones on sale to members right now?
"
Sweat is on sale today as part of the regular members presale. Saint Joan is not yet.
I wonder when they're going to announce cast for Sweat.. I know Elizabeth Marvel is leading
Is anyone else trying to buy tickets? It's pretty much a disaster and that's the response I'm seeing from others on Twitter too. The virtual waiting room assigned numbers randomly but the wait time isn't changing at all. Also when you call you either get an automated message from The Public, or a call cannot be completed message from Verizon. I'm not a big complainer, but it's frustrating to have paid for a membership and have this disorganized a ticket-buying system.
It is a disappointment. I was on the site earlier today, logged in, but wasn't able to buy Sweat tickets. I don't know what's up with that. Now I can't even access the site.

it's been incredibly frustrating. you can't trust the waiting room (comparing to when privacy was on sale), have to just refresh. and also impossible to get the seating chart loaded, so I ended up using "choose best seat" which rarely book the best seats.... but at least now I have tickets booked. may try to call later to see whether there's any way to exchange.

Don't miss Party People and Sweat. I've seen both and they are stunning!
I keep refreshing the waiting room and even tried backing out and going in again and the time just keeps saying 30 minutes which is weird because it has been saying that since 2:05.

I've been the same place in the virtual line for 30 minutes (even after manually refreshing) and I can't get through to the public on their phones. very frustrating.
The Public is at least responding on Twitter now and the virtual line seems to be moving and refreshing. Hopefully there are options available when we all get our turns.

I was able to buy one ticket to one show and now it won't work at all. It took 45 minutes to get that far, I gave up.
Well I got in, put a ticket in my cart and went to look for another show. I went to checkout with 10 minutes left on the timer and it booted me from the system and put me back in the waiting room with a 154 minute wait. They aren't answering any phones or replying to Tweets. Ugh!

This time is even more annoying than the onsale for The Gabriel plays, because they sent out an email apologizing and saying they fixed the website and were going to add more staff to answer phones and in person. There were still phone and internet problems, so it doesn't seem like they did what they promised.
What a mess.
After waiting over an hour I could only purchase 2 of the shows I wanted because the page kept freezing during my alloted 15 minutes of purchase time.
Now I'm back in the waiting room. For another 120 minutes (approximately).

Yeah I somehow managed to backdoor my way into Tiny Beautiful Things by clicking the link from my email and it circumvented the waiting room. I was paranoid about getting booted again before my 15 minutes were up so I purchased that ticket thinking I could continue shopping for others. Nope. Back in the waiting room. The backdoor thing didn't work a second time. And they aren't answering any of the published phone numbers which is horrifying customer service.

Can't they use their Hamilton profits to make a website that actually works?
I started in the online waiting room as #10, got in to buy my ticket, and ended up not being able to check out before the 15 minutes expired because my cart wouldn't load. After more online troubles, I finally went to the box office, where I waited for over an hour and finally got tickets for Plenty and Tiny Beautiful Things. They need to fix their system.
ETA: It seems like things are running smoothly now; I just decided I want to see Sweat as well and easily got a ticket online without any problems.
I was finally able to get into the website. My wait time for Sweat was given as 20 minutes, but I think it ended up being about half that. When it was my turn, everything went smoothly, and there was a good selection of seats for a Sunday in October.

What a cluster-you-know-what ... either this is an epic tech fail or the Public has sold way too many memberships. Either way, they owe Members better than this.
Also, no Twitter updates since ~5p yesterday???

Truly one of the worst customer services experiences I've ever had. I got placed in a waiting room, despite being ready to purchase tickets several minutes before going on sale, for 69 minutes. In one hour, I only moved about 7 places. It took 3.5 hours to get tickets to everything I wanted, and I had to choose a 3rd and in some cases 4th date for my shows.
I tried going in person as well, but the line was out the door and they only had 3 (of 7!!!) windows open.
Why is every other theatre more capable of doing this but not The Public?
