I don't know what would make this unsuitable for the stage. What sight gags? They're not literally adapting it shot for shot or something.
Broadway Legend Joined: 2/20/04
There have been Off-Broadway and regional shows based on sitcoms (Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, Brady Bunch). A Beverly Hillbillies musical premieres this spring in Chicago, (well - Munster, Indiana, actually.)
THE HONEYMOONERS is supposedly coming to Broadway next season, with Danny Burstein as Ralph Kramden.

I was a huge Pushing Daisies fan, but the whole premise got very old very fast. I'm not surprised that it only lasted a season and a half since there's only so much you can do with such an idea."
Exactly. I enjoyed the tv show, but the whimsy in the concept and the approach woulda worked better as a one off than as a continuing story.
