It would be fun and I would enjoy it. Obviously that's not enough of a reason to do it but if I had a bajillion dollars I would happily drop a portion of it on a nice long workshop to see what it would be like. Madam Armfeldt is already like if Lady Bunny had class.

It's just impossible for it to live up to expectations of any kind, let alone carve out its own niche. The Shaiman/Wittman score has about a fifth of the effortless magic of Bricusse/Newley's, the structure means the first act is a tedious and mostly Wonka-free slog, and the countless revisions have never been able to settle on a consistent tone. There are parts I love but on the whole it's a constipated mess.
