Put on your Sunday Clothes and go to the Open Air!

Hello, Dolly is superb. One of the best things I've seen in London this year. A terrific revival. The numbers are staged beautifully and the grand old Dolly is back.

I hope a producer picks up this show and works on it for a West End run... Dolly deserves to back where she belongs!

The Open Air Theatre have struck gold with this production. It?s wonderful. Samantha Spiro is Dolly Levi. She really owns the part. Such an amanzing actress. Daniel Crossley Josefina Gabrielle, Allan Corduner are also excellent but then so is the whole cast. Special marks also for the best steam train ? it?s fabulous and is still making me smile

A very clever set gives us the famous staircase for one of the greatest showtunes ever. Timothy Sheader and Stephen Mear have proved just how good they are.

Take a picnic, champagne and you will have a wonderful evening ? two days later I?m still playing the CD and smiling

Life is a big show tune

Thanks for the recommendations - I just checked the 10-day weather forecast and booked next Saturday night. Hopefully it will make up for the touring production, starring Anita Dobson, that I saw last year!

This production is a triumph for everyone concerned. What a joyous evening. It was a delight to see couples of all ages sitting on the grass with their arms wrapped around each other, faces aglow during the smashing production numbers or wiping away the occasional tear during the ballads, swaying along to that marvellous Jerry Herman score. The whole experience was most heartwarming.

Wildcat, it really is a superb venue isn't it.
If you get to see a truly great production of something and this seems to be it , the whole event is just magical.

Saw this last night and just finished drafting my magazine review. It may be the first show in a year of critic-ing that I've given five stars. Yes, the book is thin, but as others have been saying, the whole thing is simply magical and a joyous night under the stars.

But I wore my top hat and tails for Gigi at the Open Air, I couldn't go again in the same outfit!

The way I see it, if they're wearing 'em on stage, I'm wearing 'em in the stalls!

Thanks scripps2. Now that I know who she is it seems rather strange casting. Isn't she a little young for Dolly? Apparently, by comments here it works though.
