Q & A with Natalie Toro

Natalie Toro does a Q & A about her upcoming shows at the Magic Castle in LA! Why didn't she get a Drama Desk nom for Tale of Two Cities?!?

"Q: Is there a role out there that you haven't done yet, but you'd like to?

A: Oh yeah... I would have liked to play Elphaba. But the powers that be think I'm "too mature" for it. I mean really? She is in green makeup! So, they won't see me for it."

seriously?

I love her voice and her Eponine and her Mary Magdeline. I have her solo CD... I think she would make a GREAT Elphie re: Q & A with Natalie Toro

Funny, every time I play "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind," people think it's Idina Menzel singing. I don't know whether that'd make her ideal or not-so-grand for Elphaba, but she definitely has that Menzelly sound (though personally I like her a lot more than Idina Menzel).

I think Natalie would knock the roof off the place with "Defying Gravity". I wish I was able to check out her show in California. I saw her at the Metropolitan Room earlier this year and she puts on a great show. Funny anecdotes and beautiful singing. If you're in the LA area I definitely suggest checking her out.
