I think I'll skip this. Nothing about it sounds worth the money.
Matt, I went on an invite and was kind of glad I did. The night was fun but I have seen a version of all of the acts elsewhere.
What makes the night fun is the atmosphere. I met a number of people while roaming or being ushered through the showroom area and back halls. The trading for food was interesting also. We got the pig and I had to carve it.
What I really didn't care for was that our table, which was rigt at the stage on the left, was the performance table. After carving the pig and going to another table to get ribs we settleddown to eat and about 20 minutes later we were told that our table had to be cleared for something spectacular. So we woofed down the rest of our food and were moved away from the table. Chairs and all. A couple appeared and did some acrobatic thing for about a minute and were gone. And so was our food. Every other table had their food until about half hour before the show ended when they came and to clear the tables. In a very interesting way. But had I paid, I would have been really upset. That act could have been done on the stage.
It is a long night, we walked in at 7:30 and left a bit past 10:30 after being spoon fed our dessert. You can stay until midnight. They keep the bar open until then. And the bar is a cash bar all night. I think the more expensive tickets might get cocktails included for the night.
A very good looking cast that was totally into it. Oh, when dinner was served they played a Beyoncé song from her current release. I think it was Surfboard. The crowd went wild.
Has anyone seen this recently? Reports from the field...?
