Quentin Tarantino wants to adapt "The Hateful Eight" for the stage

From what I've heard about it, it all takes place on one set, so seems pretty easy... just a matter of finding the right composer to musicalize certain bits and sorting out whether tap dancing would be a distraction or deepen the narrative.

There's no way Tarantino would make this a Musical. It's clearly going to be a play.

Another issue would be that I hear the movie has an intermission, so they would need to sort out how they would be able to do that on stage.

I saw an early screening of this. It has a full overture and 20 minute intermission. The first 45 minutes take place in a stage coach and after that it all takes place in a one room cabin. After the screening, Tarantino said he originally pitched this as a play but then it evolved into a movie. A while back he did a reading of this in front of a public audience.

Ummm...it was ok. I enjoyed it. There were some great moments but ultimately all of us in the audience kept thinking, "Why did he make this?" It didn't seem to have much of a point. For a while I it was symbolic microcosm of the Civil War.

Tarantino said that we could see the Hateful Eight on Broadway sometime this year. Any thoughts? I hope we hear updates about this soon

Oh man, how is this a thing... But now the structure of the movie makes more sense. I don't know how others feel about it, but when someone asked me how was the movie, my response was "Wellllll... it was long."
Although because I went to go see it, I was in the city already and when it ended the timing was just right for me to enter the BoM lottery, which I ended up winning. So thanks, Mr. Tarantino!
I like the earlier false chatter about it being a musical though....

Well I watched this last night---thankfully at home--and with the skip button after the intermidly [?] long coach ride with mountains! of dialogue with only the snow blizzard scenery to distract and entertain. I jumped forward after they got to Minnies--at LEAST there should have been saloon girls there for a kick line--but no--skip--and more skip till I pressed eject by mistake--and thought--that's a sign--and went to bed-don't care what happened--all dead I hope--I died of boredom.
