Question About Post Dating tickets that were Comps
#1Question About Post Dating tickets that were Comps
Posted: 10/9/12 at 9:13pmI'm in an interesting dilemma now. I won a pair of tickets to see The Fantasticks for the 22nd through the TDF Pik a Ticket booth at the flea market this year. However, I just found out today that the performance got cancelled. I was just wondering if anything can be done about this? Or is it a lost cause because they were from the Flea Market and that's the risk I take for putting my money in? I just am paranoid about calling up Ticketmaster and sounding insane.

I'd go to the box office if I were you
Often times the general rule is that comps cannot be past dated because the tickets have no value to them.
But it depends on if you get a nice manager at the box office
Last year I won tickets for Phantom and couldn't go on the night they were for. The Manager of the box office generously let me past date them.
Doesn't hurt to ask
However go thru the box office directly because Ticketmaster will probably tell you
They are comps and cannot be past dated
Good luck!

I'd go directly to the box office, too. ESPECIALLY since they were a donated prize, I'm sure they will make good on them. (It's not like the Fantastiks are a hard to come by ticket.)
but the CANCELLED a perf? how odd.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll be in NYC again. But, at least besides this performance being cancelled, I know the show will be there for a while, so waiting isn't so bad.
I checked ticketmaster and it looks like that performance got cancelled, but they added a Thursday that week. Weird. At least I know though. I only found out because my mom had ordered a 3rd ticket so both she and my dad could go. I guess that was good news though instead of heading in on the 22nd and finding out it was cancelled when I got there.
