Who's the person who did (and/or does) the disembodied voice in the beginning that goes "Miss Peretti...please spell 'syzygy'" and "We have a winner!"
Because the voice sounded different from the CD and when I saw it on Broadway.

They always get whoever is playing William Barfee to do the voice. If you listen to the CD you can hear that it is Dan Fogler. And when I saw the show with Josh Gad, you could tell really easily it was him.

Posted: 3/29/07 at 11:03pmIt was Josh Gad when I saw the show a while ago as well. Maybe they decide on who's voice is best and it's usually William Barfee's.

Posted: 3/30/07 at 7:10amFor the longest time in New York, it has always resembled Todd Buonopane's voice to me. I don't know though. I've always pictured him doing it in a mic offstage.

Useless fact: in the Australian production, it was the guy who played Doug Panch. Probably because we had a female Barfee with a very disctinctive voice
