Hi all:

I am purchasing tickets to Next to Normal for November 20th and was surprised to find that while the evening show is basically sold out (just a pair of mezzanine seats left), there are lots of orchestra (even 4th or 5th row) seats available for the matinee that day. Is that typical? Is 4th or 5th row too close for that theater? Any thoughts? Thank you so much.

Given the intimacy and emotional nature of the piece, being close to the stage is preferable.

I wholeheartedly agree. Closer works beautiful for this show.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

sat 3rd row for the show center......perfection seats. you get so wrapped in the performance. So great. I think the closer you are to being onstage the better

I agree...sat in 5th and 8th rows and felt wrapped up in the performance being so close. Would love to make it to the city to see it again!

It was 6 hours, I don't even like to have sex and eat bacon for 6 hours.
