Question about SIDE SHOW

Were Alice Ripley & Emily Skinner really attached to each other on stage during the performance? I was just wondering because all the photos I've seen of the show suggest that they were just 'standing side by side' with hips touching.

Nope, no magnets or velcro or anything.

re: Question about SIDE SHOW

IF you can track down a copy of the 1998 Tony Awards you will see them performing "I Will Never Leave You" and they do indeed stand side by side.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

What is really funny was when one of them would get just a beat off from the other (I saw the show 8 or 9 times and this only happened twice) and there is a big gap between the two. I always remember during the Egyptian number when one fo them fell over completely!

That time was ONLY because the wind was blowing really hard during the parade. They never really had an incident like that occur during the actual show.

They used a conveyor belt during the beginning rehearsals. Other than that, it was do or die. Every a** for herself. re: Question about SIDE SHOW

re: Question about SIDE SHOW

From people who have seen the show-there would be times in the show when they would separate and sing to each other from different sides of the stage, as if to suggest not what so much as what they really want, but more what they really needed in order to live fullfilling lives. The song "Buddy Kissed Me" has pretty much a similar message.
