Question about a new Phantom understudy?

Hi, today I ran into a friend that said she saw phantom a week or 2 ago and there was an understudy for the phantom. She said the guy was currently a student at Hunter College, and that he was like 20. I looked at playbill.com but couldn't find anything. She also said he normally plays the jeweler. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a link w/his bio or something. I am so curious. I have never heard of a 20 year old phantom! Thanks

Oh my. 20 is quite young. Especially since the Christine's are in their late 20's-30's.

I know, it doesn't sound right to me. I looked online and found the guy that currently plays the jeweler. But he is not 20 (he was marius in les miz in 1997) and I didn't find anything about him currently being at Hunter College.

That would be Peter Lockyer. He plays the Jeweler and understudies the Phantom. However, he goes to NYU, not Hunter. And while he looks very young, he's actually in his early 30s.

Yep, full time. He's graduating in the spring.

Peter Lockyer was about 20 when he joined Miss Saigon -- in 1995.

He was also full-time at NYU when he was in Les Miz.

Romick is still there...or was as of a couple weeks ago when I saw him covering the role of Lefevre.
