Question about meeting actors backstage

Hello all,

First time posting here. I never really ask a question, but find the boards most of the time informative, sometimes entertaining. I am a fan of broadway, as are my daughters. Their current fav show is Waitress and are particularly fond of Ms. Mueller. My question is, and this is just of out curiosity, but they see twitter and other social media outlets with pictures of fans (some famous, some not) meeting her backstage. How does that happen? I assumed its all in who you know etc. I did see an auction for a meet and greet that I was considering bidding on for them, but never acted on it. Just curious. I would like to tell them that people are connected to the show somehow, but I really don't know. Thought maybe someone on here would know. Thank you for your insight.

Friends of friends too. I got to go backstage at Spongebob because a former director of mine had a friend in the show.

Thank you for your answers, very much appreciated it. I really don't know much about this - how do you find out who the company manager is? I am sorry for my ignorance - I really have no idea. It is my understanding that Ms. Mueller is not on social media - it's the people she posed with posting the pics. I am of the opinion to leave these actors alone - maybe some enjoy the fanfare. We have actually seen Ms. Mueller on the street but I just think its overstepping to ask for a picture etc. But the kids see others posting pics and are just curious. Again, I sincerely thank you.

^ trpguyy is right. You might also be able to call the box office too, and they could possibly transfer you to the company manager. Also - once October/November come around, that's when BroadwayCares does their annual charity. Most shows offer backstage tours, but at pretty high costs. I did it for Aladdin but it was only 15 minutes, and it was $50 per person (might've been cheaper...). I only got to see the stage, the pit, and a few of the set pieces. Still a cool experience, but I wish I got to see more. I hope this works out! Jessie Mueller seems like a sweetheart!

In January, I had left a nice comment on Kelsey Grammer's wife's Instgram simply mentioning that I was very excited to be going to see one of his first shows back in Finding Neverland, and that I was a big fan of his. wow! that is incredible!! Everything I have read about Jessie Mueller is really nice. I did watch a few of her interviews, and as an adult - not a swooning teenage fan lol - I am very impressed with her character and her humility. I think that is why I don't want to bother her with my teenager. But I will reach out because as far as role models go, she's a pretty good one. (if she is as she presents herself to be) We don't have a tragedy, sad story to tell - just regular everyday, pretty boring people. You all gave me such wonderful advice . I will give it some thought. I guess it's worth a try. It seems sort of silly to me, I have no idea what to say if it ever came to fruition. but I will let her worry about that. lol.. PS - I offered up my Hamilton tickets for a meet and greet...nothing ...goes to show how unconnected we are - so much for 6 degrees of separation lol!
