Wendla's death was only accidentally caused from an unsafe abortion. Wendla's mom just wanted the baby to be killed. I'm glad you enjoyed Spring Awakening
p.s. you may want to change your title to Questions about Spring Awakening (SPOILERS)

Wendla's death wasn't intentional. Her mother just want the baby aborted so they wouldn't be shunned by their community, because it was a "sin."
At least that's what I think.

#5re: Question about spring awakening
Posted: 12/30/07 at 3:05pmNo, Melchior does not kill himself. Though he says he is going to, the ghosts of Wendla and Moritz convince him not to

Posted: 12/30/07 at 4:12pmWendla's mother would definitely not have wanted her dead. She probably died from an infection from the unsafe abortion.
#8re: Question about spring awakening
Posted: 12/30/07 at 4:14pmdo you think her death was right then and there at the fake clinic or was it over time..a slow death?..they never addressed that or how wendla's mother reacted to her daughters death

If so I think you were seating with my sister Elle (an Asian girl) and my cousin Joanna (a tan skin girl, who was wearing a brown North Face). If so I think I was seating next to your friend Matt. He said your name was Steve in the student rush seatsm

I'm sure Wendla's mother didn't want her to die. She asked if it was safe. Sure, she was misguided, but she did indeed love her daughter.
Another question: What happens to Ilse between "The Dark I Know Well" and becoming a model? My brother thought he heard Martha say that she had to leave school (I assume because she tried to talk about her father's abuse?) but I didn't hear that line. I sort of created a story about her running away from home and becoming a model.

Posted: 12/30/07 at 6:52pmAshbash, she's great. Her voice really carries and changes for each little role. The only time when it gets a tiny bit confusing is when she's Melchior and Wendla's mother.
