Hey y'all. I'm looking for some advice about tap shoes.
I'm not a "dancer", I just like to take class for fun. I've got a pair of shoes (think boots circa 1890s) that I'd like to convert to taps and am not sure what needs to be done with them. I had wooden shanking put in (someone suggested that so they weren't split-soled), and the taps themselves come with fiberboards. Is there anything else that needs "prepping" before the taps go on? Thanks very much in advance for any help.
That should be fine-- I converted a similar pair and haven't had a problem with them. If you take them to a cobbler/shoe repair, they can take a look at your particular pair and let you know for sure-- just take the taps and all with you when you go!
