Spolier alert: the point of this thread is to discuss details of Something Rotten. Proceed at your own risk.

Saw this show and loved it. The references to other shows came so quickly, I'm sure I missed a few. My question: were there any references to any Sondheim shows?

I know in very early previews that they had an Into the Woods reference but it got cut by the time I saw it in previews which was a week or so before opening.

I think there were score snippets taken from GYPSY but technically that would be Jule Styne since only Sondheim did the lyrics.

There are West Side Story references but I don't think anything else Sondheim related.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
