So when I saw this show in Seattle, they made reference in the book or in a lyric (can't remember which one) to Ferris Bueller, which came out the year after the show takes place. Did they finally get wise and cut this inaccurate reference, or is it still there?
I don't remember seeing that, but they're still doing an outdated Pong reference. Video games were much more advanced by then.
Yeah I found that odd (and annoying) too. So with all of those people involved, nobody is going to step up and tell them the 80's stuff is way off? Or they don't care?
As far as I can remember, there was no reference to Ferris Beuller unless I completely missed it - and I don't think I would have.
There are several references that were not in the time line. If I had cared at the time, I wouldve written them down cause I know I'm gonna fry for hating this show.
Don't worry Doodle, you're far from the only one.
Yeah, you all would have noticed the Bueller reference, it stuck out like a sore thumb. So glad it is likely gone.
The reference to Ferris Bueller is still in the show, because I remember thinking of the inaccuracy of it when I heard it.
It's like when they reference Thelma and Louise in the Rent movie, which is set in 1989. You'd think they'd get wise and trim these anachronisms.

Well shakespear had tons of anachronisms and he's still considered a genius. I thought the "pong" thing was kinda creative. I don't remember the Bueller reference, though I'm not much of a fan of the movie so it probably went over my head.
