We're headed to N2N sunday matinee. Jst wondering if we will leave the theater feeling uplifted and happy, or will we need to go out for cocktails to lift our spirits?

I always feel both. I feel thrilled to have seen such a great show with such a great score, but also a bit crushed due to the subject matter.

While this a much better show, I'd compare the exit feeling as akin to SPRING AWAKENING. You're a bit drained from what's taken place plot-wise, but energized/elated by the show itself, and the production closes with a leave-the-theatre satisfied/moved-rather-than-depressed finale.

I actually find the show to leave off on a hopeful note :)

It's definitely a very very emotional show, but I like to compare it to a really good therapy session. You go through all the emotions, and probably feel kind of worn out by the end, but you don't leave the theater feeling SAD. Just like you've been through a rollercoaster ride of an experience haha

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

I think the ending is certainly hopeful note. I mean they don't skip off into the sunset, but the finale's lyrics are relatively uplifting. The show is definitely darker than most, but there's a lot of dark humor. I've definitely left other shows feeling more bummed out than this one. And as someone else, I was more excited and buzzing about the production itself than focusing on the content. Have a great time! : )
