Hi all! I am wondering if anyone knows how to quiet tap shoes onstage. I am doing selections from Singin' in the Rain for my drama class, and I am having trouble with the scene before Good Morning. I couldn't find anything online, so maybe there isn't really any trick for this because on Broadway I guess they just change the mic levels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have no first-hand knowledge of an answer to your question, but I did notice in Something Rotten that the dancers removed a 'sleeve' (my word) that was over the front of their shoes right before a big tap number.
