My favourite duo is Boublil & Schonberg (Les Miz and Miss Saigon are two of my favourite musicals), but I recognize that others have made larger contributions to musical history (they only have 3 works, after all). R&H are good, but those old classic musicals aren't my cup of tea. My choice is Kander & Ebb, who really created their own sexy genre of musical theatre.

Comden & Green anyone?

And if she'll say, "My darling, I'm yours!" I'll throw away my striped tie and my best pressed tweed, all I really need is the girl...

If Sondheim gets himself, so does Cole Porter

I agree with sum. Sondheim and his lonesome.

This is so hard!!! If we are shooting for the greatest of all time it has to be a tie between Sondheim and R&H. They just have so much to offer even though they are not my favorite. My overall favorite is Kander & Ebb. Their music got me interested in musical theater. Though I am in a bit of a Maury Yeston fix right now.

I like ALW... just not as much as he likes himself.

I would say Rogers and Hammerstein definately have the longest legacy, but the BEST is so incredibly subjective. My opinion there is Kander and Ebb for the good old days and Ahrens and Flaherty now.

Rogers & Hammerstein
Rogers & Hart
Cole Porter
Sondhem
Shaiman & Whitman
Kander & Ebb

Wonder who Mr Shaiman would pick ? (No I don't think he's THAT egotistical!!! LOL)
