Would Romeo and Juliet be better if Baz Luhrmann would be directing it. I heard from the other posts its awful.

It would have been better if David Lynch directed it and Cyndi Lauper wrote the score and it was choreographed by Jerry Mitchell and featured the Muppets.

If Mr. Luhrmann has learned to direct for the stage....maybe. His LA BOHEME was one of the worst jobs of directing that I've ever witnessed.

Honestly, you're throwing high-camp names at the wall, Jordan, but I would LOVE to see David Lynch do a musical. Though his material can be pretentious, self-indulgent and disturbing for its own sake, I love his work and I especially love his treatment of music and musicality as a sign of the uncanny.

Only if we get to see him stage the midget doing the silly walk across the stage while Jimmy Scott sings "Sycamore Trees."
