I got in for free too, and had I paid I would've been really angry. That club is pretty cool most of the time though, and there's a chance I would've gone there anyway. To his credit, Jai did stick around for a while like he promised, and I danced and chatted with him. It was a somewhat disappointing night out, but good dancing for a mere $3 coat check simply can't be beat.
