I just got a PM asking which keywords I used to find it on limewire. Don't bother asking, because I'm not going to encourage this being downloaded.
You're such an upstanding citizen meagan. Hehe. :-P

Wow, the soundtrack is already #49 in music on Amazon.
Now people can say the word "Soundtrack" and live to tell about it!

I personally have not heard it (except for the clips on the RENT site) and will be waiting until Tuesday to buy the official copy.
I don't buy a lot of soundtracks/cast recordings, but I feel the need to support this project.

i have my copy ordered but i was curious as to where i can download it?
You can download it from iTunes on Tuesday.
Seriously, I don't think anyone is going to be so brazen as to post a download source in this thread.
It is against the rules of this forum and if showing respect for the owner's wishes isn't enough...
IT'S ILLEGAL!!!

Why don't you try this site:
www.imreallyinterestedinstealingstuffpublically.com
Or, in the words of Homer Simpson . . ."DOH"
You can download the CD here:

[end sarcasm]
everyone needs to get off their self-righteous sanctimonious soap boxes and stop acting like you've never downloaded something on the sneak. stop playing yourselves. you all are probably listening to the damned thing on your ipod as we speak. mmm hmm yeah, y'know that's right.

oh and save the:
"oh no, not me, i would never *think* of doing such a thing routine" for someone who cares...
Marquise, I am not saying that I have never . . . nor, am I saying that I have . . .
I just thought it was funny that someone was requesting that the information about it be posted on a very public web site.
It is almost like going into a liquor store and saying "Hey, I am 15, get me a bottle of Jack, and by the way, will you take my mom's credit card?"
True that you may not be doing that, YouWantIt, but others are. I totally understand the respect for RENT and I guess I can understand people's loyalty to buy the CD, but to still download music from hundreds of other artists except this CD is still hypocritical. That being said, I also understand the mentality behind respecting board rules. I've violated them in the past and recieved my slap on the wrist and have learned my lesson. But regardless....some people are still hypocrits...
it doesn't matter pretty much any true fan of the show will buy the real thing just for the booklet!
If I could still d/l I totally would, I'll be buying more than one copy on Tuesday, so I think that allows me to d/l a few days earlier..:/
bUt if you have no intention of buying it you should be shot, and like I said I can't, I'm on my college campus and you can't use limewire here.. :)
So i'll be good...and just wait till tomorrow...
Marquise, I think the thing that bothers me is how people are so lazy about it.
Have I downloaded anything commercial from the internet? Of course. In fact, I already have a copy of Rent in my possession.
My point is more that we know it's illegal, we know that discussion of how to obtain this type of thing isn't allowed on this board, yet people still ask how to get it on a public forum rather than do a little leg work.
It just gets frustrating is all.
Just one more time I want to encourage everyone who has obtained a copy of the Rent soundtrack already whether it be legally or not to go out tomorrow and buy a copy as well.
I do agree with you that we need to support the movie and it's soundtrack by buying a cd/ticket, Patronus.
Less than twenty four-houuuuurs.
Do you guys think Wal-Mart will have the Soundtrack? I usually order from Amazon.com, but I want it tomorrow. I know that Barnes and Nobel will have it but I don't want to pay $15 dollars more, the same for Best Buy(but to a lesser extent). Anyways, I actually bought Spamalot from Wal-Mart the day it came out, so I'm thinking they might have the RENT soundtrack since it's supposed to be popular.
Oh no doubt I will be getting my copy tomorrow.
Actually three - - -
a Mimi, a Mark and a Roger [O-card version].
