All right all right I admit defeat! Act I of Rent spans 3 hours of real time : ) I've been a psychotic Rent fan for so many years and I always thought of Act I spanning more time than that. But, you all have yelled and whispered and related some strong evidence and I can't argue with that.

Just petition the Jonathan Larson Commission to change 9 PM to 6 PM, take a Xanax, and watch an episode of Family Ties (first four seasons only). Justine Bateman is the cure for anxiety.

After reading that Broadway Abridged script, I think the timeline of Act I is the least of the show's plot hole problems.
