Ok, so went to the premiere of the movie...and I highly recommend seeing the play as a refresher...or as an after-gift to yourself and your merry band of bohemians.

My high school went on a trip when I was in 11th grade to see "Rent" on Broadway. We were allowed to walk past the Life Cafe, but because there were so many of us, we weren't allowed to walk in or even stand by the door. It was nuts. But I'm guessing that's because the teachers who organized the trip were nuts. Anyway, it looked like a pretty interesting place to eat.

Yeah, when I lived on 5th and Ave A...what seems like forever ago now, we used to go to the Life Cafe for the Peasant Feasts! Cheap food...brunch...wine and Beer! :)

Now, obviously, the neighborhood is a bit nicer...brothels replaced by bistros on B...but it still holds so much charm!
