#0RENT Question on the SATs!
Posted: 5/16/05 at 2:40pmSo, I took my SATs today, and I'm plugging through and then come to this one reading section. Annnnnd, you read about Jonathon Larson. Nothing we didn't already know, but I thought it was pretty cool. You had ro 'edit' the paragraph. Thisprobably goes of=n the Off-Topic... Whoops!

Nothing YOU didn't already know, but bear in mind that 99& of the world aren't musical theatre junkies. I bet most of them had never heard of Rent before.
And I'm jealous. I remember taking the SATs (or ACTs, whatever) and there was NOTHING interesting about the read and edit part. I recall something about ancient church architecture.....

Nice! Yeah, same here..SATs didn't really have any fun passages to read. Good to know that they are putting musical theatre into the minds of high schoolers! He he!

Posted: 5/16/05 at 5:48pmI was taking a practice SOL (Standardized testing system in Virginia) and one of the comprehensive reading passages was from the Glass Menagerie. Yay tests being at least a little bit interesting!

i had a passage about realism vs. naturalism in theater when i took the SATs, which i had to answer questions about ... to tell you the truth it wasn't really that interesting but at least i knew the answers.
damn, if rent was in mine, i probably would have taken it as some sort of 'sign' and had a lot more optimistic look on the whole test -- i got so bored halfway through, and that probably would have snapped me out of it!
