It went through a few incarnations -- there's the oh-so creative Adam Pascal Band, then there's Mute and Wine & Vision.

Did you, in seeing the show, ever think that Roger felt guilty, or was it something you never really considered? Maybe that's got something to do with it, too. I'd be curious if you thought that seeing the show, but didn't feel it in the movie. I think I'll feel it, because it's in the back of my mind, even if it's not stated.

It always seemed to me that Roger felt guilty about April's death, whether or not that means he was the carrier of the virus I don't know, but that Roger feels guilty was just the impression I've always been under.

I asked about Adam's band because I spotted posters for MUTE in the loft and I thought that was one of his bands.

I really feel like Mark's line in the show about April's death immediately shows you Roger's guilt because he's sitting there listening to Mark and you just see that pang of guilt in his eyes. So I definitely knew it was there, or should have been there. Maybe after a second viewing I'll absorb it more. I think I was a little overwhelmed viewing it, especially after reading all the not so hot reviews. I feel like I was trying to see everything at once, instead of just enjoying it.

Soon is less than a day for you, Emcee. re: RENT SCREENING review (11/8/05) Oy.

Everything is so... conflicted. I'm finally excited. But I'm also scared.

After reading this entire thread, I'm more scared than ever. But just remember what you said before, no matter what, the movie will preserve the show's message. That's something to be happy about!

... plus Adam's in it... so I think you will have a good time!

I'm more scared than I ever was because it's not something that's far off in some untouchable distance anymore. But I'm also more excited than I've ever been for it.

Adam's going to be hot. He's going to sing. He's going to be AMAZING. And all of the faith I've picked up along in the past couple of months hasn't been for nothing; I refuse to believe that it's going to be wasted.

Have fun, Emcee. It doesn't matter what kind of reviews the movie gets, because we're all going to love it. You better post a detailed review :) The mere thought of Adam on that big screen is making my 12 day wait seem like forever. Swoon...

Pillowpants. 'Nuff said.

I totally understand how you feel. The whole thing still feels so surreal to me.... I mean, a year ago, this was still a project in limbo and who knew if it would ever be made. I was at the movie theater the other day and was just stupifyed by the fact that in a matter of weeks, I would see Rent listed up on the marquee with all the other titles. It feels like a dream... that I don't want to wake up from (which is why this thread put me in a tizzy).

You are so lucky to have had the close involvement that you did with this production and its star. I would have killed for that. As much as I feel I have invested in this film, you have so much more. We won't be disappointed.

Emcee, even if the film is flawed, the most vocal critics have said there is much to admire, surprise, thrill and move audiences. How you feel about the film now, how you feel about it a week ...two weeks...a year after you see it, don't matter. Just savor every moment in the theatre for what it is. It's the experience that counts.

And for heavens sake, pray you don't sit behind a bunch of die hard fans screaming at the screen. Jesus H. Christ!

If anyone pulls that sh*t tomorrow night, I WILL HURT THEM.

Thank you for the encouragement. With that, I'm going to try to sleep.

I can't be held accountable for what I may do to anyone who screams/talks/sings during this movie.

Random: At the screening they gave a website we could log onto to give our opinions. Does anyone know what it is again? Thanks

Thanks. That's what I thought. I've been trinyg rentthemove.com or rentmovie.com and came up with nothing. I guess this late in the game, would our opinions really get weighed?
