Yeah, dunno about Illinois. They were listed consecutively - I cut and paste them.

(PS. Insomniak, okay I'm going to sign up. It always seems like the newbies get flamed no matter what, but now that I'm reading the posts, I'm starting to think they kinda deserve it. So I should be okay.)

That commercial just gave me the chills. I miss seeing RENT in all it's fabulosity. Even though it has gone downhill lately, seeing commercials like this remind me of the incredible source and what this show was and can still be.

Just a Q...I want to save this to my computer. Do you guys know how?

if you click on "Broadband" to the side panels there are other broadway commercials.

With Chris Columbus directing, I wouldn't expect the movie to look as good as the commercial for the tour.

I don't think it's Mel. Wasn't this commercial made around 1998, if that's when Norbert was on? (Side note: Did anyone see Norbert as Roger? How was he?)

I can't download the commercial on my work computer - but if it's the commercial I'm thinking of - it's Marcy Harriell as Mimi, Norbert as Roger, Jim Poulos as Mark, Gwen as Joanne, Carla Bianco (sp?) as Maureen (I think), Norbert as Roger, Wilson Cruz as Angel, and Michael McElroy as Collins. Either that, or my memory is fading

Anyone feel free to correct me if I've gotten anyone wrong. I remember the first time I saw the commercial year ago, it made the characters seem so real all of the sudden. I never got tired if it airing......

BTW, Type A Tiff, Norbert made a fantastic Roger. He was on the second time I saw RENT in '97 when Adam was out and he won me over immediately. I've been a fan of his ever since. He and Marcy had amazing chemistry together - the kind of chemistry I haven't seen duplicated in a long time....

I finally downloaded the commercial, and I believe it's the same one that's now being aired (at least in Canada) for the Rent tour. To describe it for Becky (poorly), it's sort of darkly filmed and it has them walking down a sidewalk in the night, and closeups of some of the main cast, and part of it has Norbert kissing "Mimi" in the corner of a room, and he has short blond hair and an earring. I don't have sound on this computer but I think it's Finale B playing in the background. I agree that it makes the characters seem so real. You don't see the stage, you don't see the sets - they're in real locations. Very cool.
